Q: Why should I trust you and ProPet Sciences?

Q: How soon can I expect to see results from Dermacept?

A: For most dogs with allergic conditions, hot spots and itching should begin to disappear within 1-2 weeks of use. Some dogs can begin to show even better results after 3 to 4 weeks. Some respond well in less time. A lack of a response may indicate that the recommended daily dosage was not enough for that animal. If that occurs, double the dosage for one week until positive results are seen and then go back to normal recommended usage. It is important to remember that consistent daily usage is best for positive long-term results.
Q: What is the recommended dosage for my dog?

A: Here are the dosage guidelines for Dermacept:

Up to 25 pounds - 1/2 tablet per day
26 to 50 pounds - 1 tablet per day
51 to 80 pounds - 2 tablets per day (1 tablet in the a.m. and 1 tablet in the p.m.)
Over 81 pounds - 3 tablets per day (2 tablets in the a.m. and 1 tablet in the p.m.)

If allergy conditions are severe, you may double the daily dosage for the first five days.
Q: Can Dermacept be used for cats?

A: No. Dermacept contains Alpha Lipoic Acid, which can be toxic for cats at small dosages. However, we do have access to another product that does not contain Alpha Lipoic Acid. If you call us toll-free at 877-776-7381 or email us at customercare@propetsupport.com we'll be happy to provide that information.
Q: What are the ingredients in Dermacept?

Q: Are there any side effects with Dermacept?

A: We have not had any side effects reported to date, and the great majority of dogs will have no side effects at all. Dermacept is made from all natural ingredients, and contains no drugs or medications whatsoever. If there was a side effect, it might be a little gastrointestinal upset similar to when the dog is given a new type of treat or food. In that case, the dog should get used to it quickly and it should be of no further problem.
Q: How long will my dog need to take Dermacept?

A: Many dogs suffer from seasonal allergies, and using Dermacept during those times should help with season-specific allergy problems. Other dogs may need to take Dermacept continuously if the conditions in their environment cause them to suffer from allergic reactions all year long. For these dogs it is important to remember that consistent daily usage is best for positive long-term results. Like most supplements, Dermacept takes time to build up to effective levels in the body and show positive results. You should plan on giving your dog the recommended dosage of Dermacept for at least 30 days. If you see noticeable improvement you can continue with the same amount for uninterrupted results. Many dog owners prefer our Dermacept Wellness Plan which locks in the lowest possible price and prevents them from having to reorder the product. Of course, the Wellness plan can be paused or stopped at any time, just let us know your needs, and we'll do our best to meet them.
Q: My dog is a finicky eater. Will he like Dermacept?

A: Chances are pretty good (9 out of 10) that he will. Most dogs find the natural beef and bacon flavors to be delicious. However, in the rare case that dogs won’t eat the tablets, you can easily crumble them and mix it in with their food. If your dog won't eat Dermacept, please get in touch with us within 60 days of your purchase and we'll arrange for you to return it for a full refund of the purchase price.
Q: My dog is allergic to beef, or I am concerned about BSE contamination (mad cow disease). I see that Natural beef and bacon flavor is listed on your label. Will my dog be able to eat Dermacept?

A: The Natural beef and bacon flavoring in Dermacept is actually made from a vegetable base, and it has no beef products in it whatsoever, so it should be completely safe for your dog.

Q: My dog is right on the borderline between the weights you specify. Should I give him the smaller dosage?

A: If dogs are between weight classes it’s probably best to opt for the higher dosage. Giving your dog a little “boost” with an extra tablet each day should give better results.
Q: Can my pet overdose on your product? What should I do if he eats the whole bottle?

A: We have heard from several dog owners in the past 5 years with dogs who consumed an entire bottle of tablets (I guess they must REALLY like the taste...) Some of those dog owners reported absolutely no adverse reaction. If there is such a thing as an overdose, or if the dog swallows a large amount of capsules, our vet recommends eliminating feeding of Dermacept (and Flavocin, if your dog is taking it as well) for a week, and giving your dog lots of water to drink. Your dog may show symptoms of gastro-intestinal distress like vomiting or diarrhea, but these symptoms should be temporary. Your vet may choose to administer activated charcoal if these kinds of symptoms of irritation to the GI tract do occur.
Q: Can I give my dog my own allergy medications?

A: You probably shouldn’t. Just because it’s safe for human use doesn’t mean it’s safe for dogs. Ibuprofen is a good example. Even though it’s OK for you and me, it can be toxic and fatal to dogs. In fact, you shouldn’t even give cat food to dogs. A good rule of thumb is to only give your dog foods, nutrients, and treats designed specifically for them. Because Dermacept has been developed with the aid of a clinical nutritionist and a staff veterinarian—exclusively for dogs—you can be sure that it’s safe and effective.
Q: How do I cancel my enrollment in the Wellness Plan?

A: It’s easy. Just call us toll-free at 877-776-7381 or send an email to customercare@propetsupport.com (make sure you include your order# in the email) and you will no longer be sent any more shipments and your credit card will no longer be charged).

Q: I'd like to order your product, but I'm nervous about using my credit card over the Internet. Is it safe to do so, and if I'm still worried about it how else can I order?

A: Using your credit card to order our products is very safe. At ProPet Sciences LLC we use secured server pages and your data is encrypted and is safe from unauthorized access. In fact, our shopping cart technology uses Verisign Secure Sockets Layer technology, one of the most widely used and trusted methods on the Internet. Of course, if you prefer you can simply order over the phone by calling 1-877-776-7381 during our normal office hours (8:30am-5pm Mountain Time, MONDAY through FRIDAY)
